Dear Families,

The new school year has begun and we are off to a very exciting start.  We are continuing to begin each and every day gathered together in the gym to kick off our day in a positive way!  We have added some new elements to our morning assembly and we still recognize a student of day – someone who displays the pillars of character with actions that matter and works hard to achieve his/her hopes and dreams.

Bellair teachers and staff are focused on and putting into place a rigorous curriculum aligned to the AZ College & Career Ready Standards.  We review student progress and data regularly which helps us provide differentiated instruction to meet all student needs.

This year, our entire district is using EngageNY for math.  With it come some growing pains.  We are planning to have some interactive and informative math nights to help with the changes.

I would like to encourage you to join our PTA.  Our PTA is committed to providing community oriented events that support all students.  They are also working to help us equip our classrooms with additional technology devices.  The cost to join PTA is $10.00 for a family membership.  Forms can be found in the lobby of our front office.

Thank you for choosing Bellair as the school for your child(ren).  We know there are many choices and we are honored that you chose us.  I always appreciate your input and feedback.

Sincerely,

Jackie Dettorre

Principal

Please remember…

When dropping off or picking up students, you must use the east parking lot.  We will provide detailed procedures.  Following these procedures helps us keep all students safe and orderly which is very important to us.  If you are not sure of the procedures, please do not hesitate to ask one of our staff members.

Students may enter the campus at 8:30 each morning. If they are eating breakfast, they may go to the cafeteria starting at 8:20.  Please do not leave students unattended before those times as we do not have supervision for them.  We want to ensure that all students have a positive and safe start to their day.

Other than the morning of the 1st day of school, all visitors to the campus must sign in at the front office. We welcome parents who wish to have lunch in the cafeteria.  We welcome classroom volunteers.  If you wish to visit with your child’s teacher and the classroom, please remember to schedule a time with the teacher.

The school day is very important so we try to protect our academic time.  To help us with this, we ask that you help your child be on time for school each day and remain until the final bell.  We know that sometimes there are appointments that must happen during the day.  Please note that we will not call a student out of class at 3:15 or later.
