The International Baccalaureate Organization
is a non-profit educational foundation based in Switzerland, that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program for students in the final years of high school. The IBO provides curriculum and assessment development, teacher training and information seminars, electronic, and other services to over 2000 participating schools in more than 125 countries. There are currently eight IB schools in Arizona. Barry Goldwater High School received its IB charter in 1999. The International Baccalaureate Program is an honors program with a comprehensive and rigorous liberal arts curriculum, leading to examinations in the junior and senior years. It is designed for the academically talented student willing to work hard in a very structured setting.
The Barry Goldwater High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is accepting students from the Deer Valley School District and from other districts. Our enrollment is not capped and all students who qualify for the program will be accepted. Students who apply to IB may be in 8th, 9th or 10th grades.
