Dear Bellair Families,
We are quickly approaching the first day of school - which is Wednesday, August 10th for all students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Anyone in the preschool program will start on Mon, August 15th.
Many people have been asking about Meet the Teacher night. This year we are not holding an evening event before the start of school. We will have a Back to School Night on August 25th - you will receive more information about that soon.
Before school ended, students had a chance to meet their new teacher for this school year. On the first day of school, Aug. 10th, parents are welcome to arrive with their child(ren) and go with them to the classroom. It is the one and only morning we allow parents to come on campus without signing in. Classroom teachers will be anxiously awaiting their students in the classroom. Other teachers and other staff and volunteers will be all around the school campus helping direct the traffic flow in the drop off lane, directing people to classrooms, and helping to give out names of teachers if someone doesn't have that information.
We also recognize that Kindergarten parents and students may not have met the teachers so we have a special plan for you - watch for additional information coming very soon.
For this first day of school only, students will not report to the gym in the morning as they do every other day. If you wish to walk your child to the classroom, we want you to be able to do that. Gates will open at 8:30. School starts at 8:45. We will make an announcement for parents to join us in the cafeteria for morning refreshment as you prepare to leave so teachers and students can start their day.
Students who eat breakfast at school may arrive as early as 8:15. They will enter the cafeteria from the front gate as usual.
I will continue to provide additional information and I may repeat this information as we get closer to opening day. I want to be sure everyone has the information they need.
I am very excited to have the students return to school. I miss them when they are not here.
Thank you for being part of the Bellair Family.
