Welcome to our youngest Bobcats!
We have two programs here on our campus to meet the needs of our young bobcats. One is a Community Education Prekindergarten program and the other is a Developmental Preschool.
Community Education Prekindergarten teacher is Mrs. Janet Knaus. Prekindergarten is for children age 4 as of August 31st. Our prekindergarten provide a play-based environment, which promotes the physical, mental, social, emotional, and creative development of each child. We encourage children to express their individuality by offering developmentally appropriate experiences. For more information please contact Janet Knaus at Janet.Knaus@dvusd.org.
Developmental Preschool teacher is Mrs. Cadi Clayton. The DVUSD Special Needs Preschool Classroom provides free educational services for children who qualify for special education in accordance with federal and state regulations. Children ineligible for special education may attend preschool on a tuition basis as 'preschool peers'. The practice is based on the belief that integrating non-disabled peers into special education classrooms proves beneficial for the children and families involved. To enroll as a preschool peer, children must demonstrate age appropriate development in motor, communication, self-help, cognitive, social and emotional domains. Children must be 4 years of age by December 31st of the current school year. We are currently enrolling preschool peers. If you would like to enroll your child please contact Cadi Clayton at Cadi.Clayton@dvusd.org.
