|ALL classrooms at Sierra Verde School are nut-free areas. This includes foods processed in a factory that also processes nut-containing foods. Unfortunately, most bakery items, including cupcakes and donuts, are included in this group of foods, so they are not allowed. To keep all our students safe at school, baked/processed birthday or celebration treats brought to school to be shared in class must be one from the following list.|

The Deer Valley Unified School District’s Governing Board unanimously approved to seek voter authorization of a 15% override. This election will take place on November 3, 2015 and will help preserve current fine arts and athletic programs such as art, general and instrumental music, and physical education, as well as maintain class sizes. The funds will also be used to attract and retain highly qualified teachers.
The Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards (AZCCRS) for reading and math set higher expectations for students. This means that expectations for student achievement are higher than they used to be with the previous AIMS state assessment. As state officials have recently reported, it is likely that fewer students will score at the higher achievement levels on the AzMERIT assessment, especially the first few years.
