Collaborating with other Principals and District LeadersPosted by Vivian Hunt at 8/22/2016 2:00:00 PM
I have the priviledge of working with dedicated professionals in the Deer Valley Unified School District. Today I met with regional principals and curriculum specialists to develop Math and Science professional Learning Communities for our grade level teams. The goal is to increase achievement in both areas and provide specialized instruction for students who are not meeting standards.
A Day In the Life of a PrincipalPosted by Vivian Hunt at 8/18/2016 3:00:00 PM
Being a Principal is a wonderful gift! Each day brings exciting events and extraordinary learning for our students. Just to name a few for today:
1.Arrowhead teacher Lori Nemeth supervises 4th graders as they help 2nd grade students learn new computer skills. Mrs. Michalski really appreciates the support for her students!
2.Danna Evans trains 6th graders to be All Things Eq Ambassadors. They are role models for the little kids.
3. Pre-School students on safari at Arrowhead. They made all their own gear and brought food for the animals. (the office staff got to be the pretend animals) Adorable!
Welcome Steven Long!Posted by Vivian Hunt at 8/16/2016 9:00:00 AM
Welcome Steven Long, our new Plant Foreman! Steve is a real go getter! His leadership to our maintenance crew has contributed greatly to one of the best first weeks ever at Arrowhead. Steve has a real knack for establishing procedures and organization, attention to detail, and the tenacity to hang in there to get the job done right! Check out his hard work on the newly painted trash cans and tables around campus.

Welcome to Arrowhead!Posted by Vivian Hunt at 8/15/2016 4:00:00 PM
Thanks to you all for a fabulous first week of school! It is wonderful getting our precious students back on campus! This place is just not the same without them! We spent the first 3 days establishing procedures for classroom routines, moving from point A to point B on the campus, and lunchroom etiquette. I am especially proud of the great job our 6th graders did with helping the kindergarten and first grade students get accustomed to eating in the cafeteria. Arrowhead is all about being kind and helpful in each moment! This week we are ready to get down to the business of learning. It is going to be a great year!!!
Proud Principal of Arrowhead
Reading Mini Camp OutPosted by Vivian Hunt at 10/19/2015
The Reading Mini Campout was a huge success! Thanks to all students, parents, and teachers who took the time to kick back and read a book. Mrs. Holly, our reading specialist did a super job of organizing this event. Please see the kind words below from one of our wonderful parents:Ms Hunt, & reading camp out helpers
We wanted to say thank you to the school and all volunteers who made the reading camp out so fun and special for the kids.
I know events like this are optional and it's a great chance to say thank you for choosing to put on events like this.
Here's a picture of my 3 girls having a blast at the reading camp out. Being a new family in a new state we look for events like this to make friends at school - and they did :) And to get them excited about belonging at school - and they are! :)
Thanks for loving reading and loving the kids by putting on the reading camp event.
Amazing Sage StudentsPosted by Vivian Hunt at 9/18/2015
Mrs. Roth's 3rd and 4th Grade students presented a Creative Dramatic version of Wind in the Willow. They did a fabulous job and had a great time doing it!
