Welcome to reading at Union Park!

  • My name is Chanel Knopf and this is my second year at Union Park. I graduated from ASU with my undergrad in Elementary Education. I then went on to receive my master's degree from GCU in Reading. I was in the Alhambra School District prior to Deer Valley, and I have 8 years experience working as a teacher!

My job is to help at-risk readers through pull out and push in intervention lessons. I work primarly with K-3 students. I design explicit, systematic, multi-sensory instruction around my student's deficits. I work with their homeroom teacher to provide optimal reading support to "catch them up" in reading. I want my students to love reading as much as I do and to be successful. I want reading to be natural, enjoyable, and stress-free for them. Throughout our time together, I will provide them with effective strategies and support to help them reach their goals.

I have a true passion for both reading and my students and I am so excited to work with your young readers! Please feel free to contact me as needed at chanel.knopf@dvusd.org. We will have a great year together!
