• 4th Quarter Home Learning

    Hello 7th Grade Rattler Families,

We are so proud of students that are completing all the assignments in Canvas. Here is some information for our students this week at Paseo Hills Home Learning.

Home Learning Plan:  Weeks of April 20-May 21, 2020

Focus:  This plan in the chart below is designed to introduce new learning and engage students in learning opportunities to reinforce grade level learning throughout the remainder of the school year. Participation may be in the form of live or recorded lessons, submitting assignments/assessments or other activities outlined by the teacher. Student participation is important in order to improve current grades, recover failing grades and prepare for the next level of learning. All learning activities are on Canvas.

4th Quarter Grading: This week we begin new learning. The district has required that teachers assign one meaningful assignment grade per week for each class. The 3rd Quarter Grade is included as the STARTING POINT grade in the 4th Quarter gradebook. All new learning grades are entered as a No Harm basis to the grade. This means that students can improve their grade with the new learning assignments. New learning grades are recorded as full credit/met standard, collected or missing.

Work Completion/Week at a Glance (WaaG): Make sure you complete assignments that are published in each Canvas course. Try to check into each Zoom meeting class so that your teachers can give instruction, guidance, encouragement, and answer clarifying questions for the lessons at hand. If the teachers don't see you in their Zoom meetings or observe any Canvas work completed (attendance), parents are contacted for a well-check. The WaaG is posted in Canvas for students and has all the assignments for the week, as well as Zoom meeting links. Complete all assignments for the week by Friday.

Student Daily Weekly Schedule - Focus:  This schedule is designed to introduce new learning.  Participation may be in the form of live or recorded lessons, submitting assignments/assessments or other activities outlined by the teacher. Student participation is important in order to improve current grades, recover failing grades and prepare for the next level of learning. All learning activities are on Canvas.

    Goals:

    1. Engage students in meaningful learning
    2. Prepare students for next year
    3. Focus on most essential learning
    4. Reduce gaps that will need to be addressed next year
