"The Important thing is to not stop questioning, curiosity has its own reasons for existing." Einstein
We, the SAGE Students of Copper Creek Elementary School, challenge ourselves to excel in learning by thinking differently, digging deeper and using our best effort to go beyond expectations as we stretch our brains in different directions.
  • Welcome to the Copper Creek SAGE Website.  SAGE is a  content replacement math at ELA (Language Arts) for 3rd-6th grade identified gifted students.  The program is designed to allow gifted students to rise to high levels of thinking and skills as they explore concepts in unique and "out of the box" ways.  Make sure you check out the blog below for weekly updates including project and assessment dates.
All classes will be utilizing Google Classroom and Google applications.  I recommend that students download the following apps on any mobile devices they use (all are free):  Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets (used for reading logs).  All students have a district monitored google account tht should be used for all school related activities.

  • The next few weeks in SAGE

Posted by Robyn Cohon on 2/5/2020

Thank you for your patience during testing week.  I will be out 2/6-2/7 to attend  the State Gifted Conference.  There will be a sub on the first day.

This Blog coveres the next few weeks.  Conferences are coming up the week of the 17th.  I will be available for drop in's (it is studentled conferences) on that Thursday until around 6:30.  If you wish to meet one on one just e-mail me.

All ELA classes are working on resreach papers.  We are also each doing a literature piece that includes topics such as intolerance.  Also the new lit responses called Common Lit are proven a challenge which is good but I do not want frustration as we explore these higher level pieces and questions.  I will be dropping the lowest 3 grades (5/6) and 4 (3/4).  Any not completed will be counted as zeros and then be dropped as they low scores.

Math classes- this week short quizzes, any week withouot a test will be a quiz

3rd - completing Fractions.  The end of module 5 Assessment will be Thursday 2/13.  We will then go into Decimals the following week.

4th -these students will be assessing on the end of module 6 thursday 2/13.  From there all assessments each week can come from anything we have done this year.  In class we will be exploring the remainder of the year as I like to call it, pull your hair out real world problem solving.

5th - Unit 6 - algebraic thinking.  Thursday 2/13 mid unit assessment and most likely the following Weds end of unit.

6th - Unit 6 algebraic thinking.  End of unit assessment Thursday 2/13.  Then we will move into Data analysis.
