Welcome to Mountain Ridge
This is my 28th year of teaching in the Deer Valley School District. My first 4 years of teaching were at Hillcrest Middle School. Then I got the honored to move up and open Mountain Ridge back in 1995.
My educational background includes graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Education, and a minor in Health Education. I also got a K-12 Physical Education and Drivers Education endorsement. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from NAU. I am the Physical Education Department Leader and help with the district PE curriculum.
I have coached many sports. At Hillcrest I was lucky to coach Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Track and Field and a Gymnastic club. At Mountain Ridge I have coached Cross Country, Varsity Girls Soccer and now I’m the Head Girls Track and Field Coach.

In addition to the Academic Prep times built into our schedule each week, additional assistance/tutoring is provided on a weekly basis both by MRHS and individually by instructors. Those dates and times will be posted in the classroom and/or on my website at the start of each week. I will demonstrate to the students how to find availability each week. I also encourage your son/daughter to write down my availability each week in their Mountain Ridge planner (provided by the school) so that you too are aware of my weekly availability.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday the Weight room is open for students to do make ups. Also the fitness room is open every Tuesday and Thursday during ACA Prep for make ups.All Classes are aligned with the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards and/or national content standards and supports school-wide efforts to increase student achievement.Helpful links:MRHS Misson StatementThe Mission of Mountain Ridge High School is to provide realworld connections within highly engaging classrooms that preparegraduates to meet the rigors and demands of 21st century globalcitizens.
