Hi Wildcats!   My name is Mrs. Clover and I am happy to be your child's  fourth grade teacher.  This year will be an exciting year of learning!  Our goal is to have a successful academic school year.  I am proud to be a part of New River Elementary School. 

At New River Elementary we will focus on State  Standards and EQ.  The EQ curriculm will focus on social and emotional needs.  The curriculum for all subjects is aligned with the State Standards.  In reading the stories will  be used to increase our vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills that are listed in the Arizona State Standards for 4th grade. We will be using reading strategies such as summarizing, context clues, comparing and contrasting, and making inferences to build our comprehension skills. 

In math we will continue to work on multiplication, move on to division, decimals, fractions, geometry, measurement, and problem solving. 

In language arts we will focus on grammar as well as improving our writing skills.

In social studies we will learn about map skills, maps, World history and geography, American history, and Arizona history and geography.

In science we will learn about magnetism, electricity, weather, animal adaptions, weathering and erosion, water, landforms, environments, and much more.
