DVUSD Governing Board: Jenny Frank, Ann O'Brien, Ann Ordway, Julie Read, Darcy TweedyDeer Valley Unified School District is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected by popular vote to alternating four-year terms. The DVUSD governing board consists of a president, a vice-president and three members. The president and vice-president are elected in January by fellow members and serve in that capacity one year. Board members must reside in the Deer Valley District.
Operating within the laws of the state legislature, and the rules and regulations of the state Board of Education, the board sets policy for the management of the district. The superintendent and district staff are responsible for the execution of these policies.Mission Statement
Through effective policy and decision making, we lead and empower Deer Valley Unified School District to provide and continuously improve upon a world class educational system that prepares our students to successfully compete in the global economy.Effective immediately and until further notice, the Deer Valley Unified School District Governing Board will enforce the Governor's Executive Order 2020-43 to limit all public gatherings to fifty (50) people, which includes Governing Board members, Administration, presenters, and members of the public. All participants are required to comply with the district’s face covering Policy & Regulation JICA / JICA-RB and follow social distancing requirements.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for first come, first seated basis. Once the maximum limit is reached, the doors will be closed. The Board meeting is live streamed and can be viewed at this link: https://livestream.com/dvusd

There will be a general Call to the Public agenda item, since the meeting is scheduled to be open to public participation on site. The Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the agenda, with the exception of Public Hearings. The Board may take action in an open meeting on any item that was the subject of the Executive Session held at this Board Meeting. The Board may vote to convene an Executive Session for the purpose of receiving legal advice on any items listed on the agenda. A copy of the Board Packet is available for inspection at the desk of the District receptionist during District business hours 24 hours prior to the day of the meeting. One or more members of the public body may participate by telephonic, video or internet conferencing.
