Welcome to Second Grade!!
Open communication between the teacher and families is a huge key to student success, so please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Email is the best way and I will check it several times a day. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
I love celebrating birthdays! Feel free to send in non-food treats.
Arranging a school approved "treat basket" from the cafeteria staff is also a great and easy way to celebrate your child's birthday.
Class Wish List
Disinfecting wipes are always helpful and appreciated. Also, please see this following link for our class wish list. Little toys, water bottle stickers and treats are awesome for our class treasure chest and the students really appreciate it.
Hopefully, I will see your children every day, but of course things come up. Please call the school at (623) 445-8090 to let them know if your child will be absent. If you would like to pick up absent work at the end of the school day or have it sent home with a sibling or neighbor, please email me.
Arrivals & Departures
School starts at 8:45 a.m. and dismisses at 3:30 p.m. On early release days, dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Please have your children wear tennis shoes on PE days. Please see the Daily Schedule Page for our Specials Rotation.
Our lunch period is at 1:05. Money can be added to your child's cafeteria account through EZSchoolPay
The only homework expectation for 2nd grade is that they read for a minimum of 20 minutes per day and complete a provided reading log weekly.
In our classroom we use Class Dojo as a positive behavior plan. The more awesome choices they make the more points they get. After 10 points, they can pick a prize or a privilege. The privileges can be show and tell, a special pen jar for the day or lunch with the teacher. The treasure box is full of parent volunteered items. The kids usually LOVE water bottle stickers, fidgets or slime. To contribute, please see my Amazon wish list.
