• Hello, my name is Daniel Singleton. I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii, Hilo, where I also played on a nationally ranked basketball team.  Prior to my time in education I was a telecommunications engineer for 24 years. I started as a specification writer for Western Electric, a subsidiary of AT&T. With the divestiture of AT&T in 1983, I transferred to PacBell and became an interoffice facilities engineer. Several years later I was promoted to Senior Engineer and was responsible for the supervision of eight engineers. My last assignment was as a Field Engineer, where I was responsible for all additions and modifications to 26 central offices. After retiring from AT&T, I went to work for a commercial construction company as an estimator.  In addition to my teaching duties, I am the adviser for the Engineering Technology Club and head coach for boys tennis.

My hobbies include wood working, model ship building and travel. I have made various pieces of furniture including tables, chairs and entertainment centers. I am currently working on my third model ship. My wife Karen and I have traveled to 53 countries and territories around the world. We have two grown children, three beautiful granddaughters and one grandson.
