Ann has lived in the Deer Valley School District since 2004. She moved to the area with her husband, Terry, daughter Amanda (SDOHS class of 2014) and son Thomas (SDOHS class of 2017). A lifelong resident of Phoenix and graduate of ASU with a Business Management Degree, she was drawn to this area of town in 2004 for its strong sense of community and DVUSD's record of excellence in education. While serving her first term on the DVUSD Board, Ann was elected Secretary to the Arizona School Boards Association Executive Board and was subsequently appointed to the WestEd Board of Directors by the Arizona State Board of Education. Prior to becoming a Governing Board member, Ann served on a variety of committees and booster clubs, including the Stetson Hills Elementary School PTSA and the Sandra Day O'Connor Academy of History Booster Club. Her diverse professional career includes five years of classroom substitute teaching as well as project management with the Arizona State Department of Child Support Enforcement. She also maintains her Business Broker license with Sunbelt Business Brokers. Ann's philosophy is that the greatest positive impact we can have on our community is being actively involved at the local level. To that end, she partnered with another community advocate in 2016 to ensure the Maricopa County Reentry Center was a secure facility and to successfully pass legislation for a stronger notification process. Ann's desire to help ensure our children are provided with the highest quality education led her to seek and attain a DVUSD Governing Board member position in 2014, and it is that same desire that motivates her to continue serving the community and the Deer Valley Unified School District.
