• Meet Miss Larner

My name is Amanda Larner and I am so excited about being your math teacher! This will be my 16th year teaching at Diamond Canyon. My first four years at DC I taught 4th grade, I taught a year of 5th grade math, two years in 8th grade math, and now this is my ninth year teaching 7th grade math. While I call Anthem home now, I was born and raised in Holt, Michigan and received my teaching degree from Western Michigan University. I head to Michigan each summer and enjoy getting out of the AZ heat and spending time at my parents' lake house. Both of my parents retired from teaching after 30 years of being high school math teachers. My family and I love math!!

I am also a huge fan of basketball (Go Spartans!). I coached the DC girls basketball team for twelve years and now will be in my third season as the freshman girls basketball coach at Boulder Creek. When I'm not teaching or coaching I am working on my home and spending time with my crazy cats Ava, Finley, Olive, Sarge and my newest addition, my puppy Penny Lane!

While I don't miss the Michigan winters, I do miss the fall! Love this view from my parents lake house in northern Michigan!
