My name is Ms. Sowers, and I am your Copper Creek Counselor. I am a licensed professional counselor as well as being a certified masters-level teacher. I practiced counseling for 10 years, performing home-based counseling for children and families, as well as being the program manager and counselor in a group home for youth who had been placed there following incarceration at SEF, Durango and Adobe Mtn. I have been a teacher for 27 years, working in 6th, 5th, 3rd, and 1st grades.  I am excited about being a counselor again, where I will be able to work with students in Kinder through 6th grade.
          I have 3 children; Jason, Tiffany, and Brittany, and 7 grandchildren. My grandkids call me Nana. My son Jason is an architect, and lives here in Phoenix with his wife Arian and their 2 children, Cora Kimberly (10/2/2016), and Westley (10/13/2018).  Cora loves books, swimming, dancing and playing princess. Westley loves trains, building towers, the Mandalorian, and hanging out with Daddy (especially when they go fishing)! Tiffany lived in London for about 5 years and now lives in Portland, with her husband, Nico, who is French and speaks 4 different languages. They both work for NIKE and love to travel and visit friends/family both in Europe and the United States. Tiffany and Nico have a daughter, Eloise Rose (11/8/2019). Eloise speaks both English and French and loves playing with friends at preschool. She is very precocious and seems to remember absolutely everything.  Brittany is a stay-at-home mom who currently lives in Germany, with her husband, Ryan. She loves to bake, sew, build furniture and create amazing, detailed projects. She is currently taking college classes online and wants to become a doctor someday.  Ryan is a Ranger in Army Special Forces. He is a HALO instructor who teaches soldiers to jump out of airplanes. Brittany and Ryan have four boys now: Bradlee (11/28/2007, Taylor (6/3/2011), Matthew (6/26/2013) and Jack(1/10/2020). Bradlee is starting High School this year, and he is a fantastic big brother. He loves music, sports, Legos, and video games and books! Taylor is in sixth grade this year. Taylor loves science, cooking, Legos, and books. Matthew is in fourth grade this year. He loves all kinds of animals, bugs, Legos, books, and helping to train their 2 new French Bulldog puppies.  Jack was born at only 31 weeks, but he doesn't look like a premie anymore.  He has grown by leaps and bounds this year.  He loves running around after his big brothers and trying to do whatever they do.
              Some of my hobbies include traveling, dancing, singing, gardening, baking, reading, and live concerts or theater performances. I enjoy drinking coffee, sitting on my patio and watching the hummingbirds. (I also keep a lookout for squirrels, pack rats, rabbits and raccoons who like to snack in my garden.) I am anxious to meet you and learn all about the things you are interested in. I know that we will have a great year!
