November 5, 2019 Override Election Information
On June 25, 2019, the Deer Valley Unified School District’s Governing Board unanimously approved to seek voter authorization of a continuation of the existing 15% override. The 2015 voter approved override will be entering the phase down period and vital funds will no longer be available.IMPORTANT DATESOctober 7, 2019Last date to register to voteOctober 9, 2019First date to vote by early ballotOctober 25, 2019Last date to request early ballotNovember 5, 2019Election day
This election will help preserve current fine arts and athletic programs such as art, general and instrumental music, and physical education, as well as maintain class sizes. The funds will also be used to attract and retain highly qualified teachersThe total cost of the override for homeowners is a continuation of $19.23 a month property tax on the average assessed home value. Your taxes will NOT increase as a result of passage of this Override.Without your support the district will have to reduce the operational budget by over $9 million each of the next three years of the phase down. Passage of the override will ensure that your District will avoid cutting elective classes, programs, and services that directly benefit students.The state has cut education funding for the past eleven years, causing steep budget deficits for DVUSD schools. Supporting the override will allow the continuation of quality educational programs for our students.

Funding for Student Safety Special Bond ElectionSpecial Reports to the Community:
The Deer Valley Unified School District’s Governing Board called for a 2019 Special Bond Election in the amount of $175,000,000 to fund safety, security, instructional resources, technology, building renewal, conservation, buses and student growth through the year 2025. The total cost is $13.28 a month on average assessed home value.
This funding is being structured to NOT INCREASE the projected tax rate.For a list of what your neighborhood school will receive from this bond election you can look at the links on the bottom of this page.
