Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Ellis

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. My family moved to New River when I was three. We had chickens, ducks, a turkey, pigs, a milk cow, and cattle we raised from calves. After graduating from Barry Goldwater High school, I joined the Navy. I served as a Hospital Corpsman mostly in the San Diego area.

When my enlistment was over, I returned home and started college. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2004 and later received my Master's Degree in 2012. I student taught in 2004 in First Grade at Gavilan Peak. Next, I long-term substituted at Sunset Ridge teaching AIMS Preparation for Middle School students. Sunset Ridge is where I called home until a position opened at New River.

I have taught 2 years of 5th grade and a year of kindergarten. This is my thirteenth year teaching 6th grade. I am truly excited for another year at New River! This will be my tenth year teaching at New River, and I love it. I attended New River School from Kindergarten through 6th Grade and feel very honored to have the opportunity to teach where I grew up.
I also feel fortunate to be able to live in New River. There is no other place like it. My husband and I have been married for twenty-one years and have two daughters. We also have dogs, cats, a tortoise, and fish. We especially enjoy and love to spoil our many nieces, nephews and other assorted adopted family.
