• Formal Attire Letter 8/24/18

    Dear SF Performing Arts Family,

Attached are pictures of the new concert attire both Band and Choir will be wearing at the Jr. high level for all district assessments, concerts, festival contests, Arizona Music Educator Association Conference “band only,” and the possible joint Disneyland trip the first week in May. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Terrell have selected a professional and classy look that will help them not only look fantastic but give them confidence for playing & singing performances.

The formal dress cost is $53 and the shirt, pant, and tie combination is $40. The dress will be in the black as depicted in the first picture. The men's outfit will have a black shirt and pants, and a black tie. Ladies are encouraged to wear the dress, but may choose the shirt and pant combination if preferred. After finishing the “Otter Pop” fundraiser next week, we will take the total and deduct that amount to lower everyone’s cost. Please help spread the word to other Sonoran Foothills friends and children so we have a successful fundraiser.

We are looking for two sets of mom volunteers to help with the measurements for the dresses and shirt/pants sizes. If you are interested, contact your child’s director this week. We would like to do this on Friday, August 31st and get everything ordered the following week. Fittings will start at 8:30am on August 31st and finish by 10:15am so all children are on their way to their next class.

    Formal Attire Letter 8/24/18

    Dear Sonoran Foothills,

The new school year is launched and we are experiencing the joy of making music. Thank you for your support, and particularly for encouraging your child to continue their study of music. This investment of time, effort and energy will produce lifelong dividends.

Throughout the year you will be receiving communications from our Music Department concerning upcoming concerts and other pertinent information. I also will be sending you compelling research data about the importance of music study in the development of your child. The world of education is in a constant evolution and you, as a responsible and concerned parent, must be apprised of the latest information gleaned from research studies. This information will aid you in helping your child make wise choices that are certain to benefit their future.

Evidence continues to focus on the arts (music) as a vital component in the positive growth of every child. For years we have pointed to the music students as those who have demonstrated a special talent. However, based on extended studies we now know it is the very process of learning music that develops the artistic mind and brings forth the creative potential in all young people. For this reason, continued membership in our musical family is strongly encouraged. It is a privilege to have your child as a valued musician in our organization. Thank you for your support of music education at Sonoran Foothills. You play an important role in everything we''ll be able to do. Welcome to our new school year!
