Mrs. Jeneen Potts

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Jeneen Potts. I graduated from Arizona State University (Go DEVILS!) with a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and started my Educational Technology Masters through NAU.   I have been at Desert Mountain for 18 years and I consider this my second home (maybe my first since I am here more than I am actually at my own home) :)  I absolutely love teaching 4th grade, as it's been the only grade that I have taught, plus I am truly scared to teach any other grade (yes, I am a chicken).

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Dave, for 16 years. We have two AMAZING boys, Zachary (14) and Nicholas (11) and I can't forget about my loving Chocolate Lab, Charley.   In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing with my kids, travel, going to the beach and baking. I am a HUGE Green Bay Packer and San Francisco Giants fan.... so watch out during football and baseball season... I can get a bit rowdy :) I was born and rasied in San Francisco and moved to Phoenix when I was 16.  I met my husband, Dave, in 1996 and that was when I was converted into a Packers fan (im sure I will be getting made fun of from some of you dads out there) :)

Communication with parents is very important to me.  I send out weekly emails so that you are updated with classroom news and upcoming events/dates.  PLEASE feel free to email me at any time.  Email is the BEST way to get a hold of me as I don't check my phone often (this is one of my bad habits that I have been TRYING to break).... so if you are needing to relay a message to your child, please email me instead of leaving a message on my phone.

This is going to be a GREAT year and I am so excited to share it with your child.

One of my favorite quotes...
"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."
Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882 - 1945)
