I have a B.S. in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University.  I started teaching 6th grade in 1992. From that time I worked my way down teaching 6th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grades.   I also had the awesome privilege of teaching homebound students within the Washington Elementary School District for several years. When my kids were little I decided to stay home and returned to teaching in 2006 teaching 1st grade here at Stetson Hills. I jumped quickly when the chance came for me to return to 2nd grade. I have spent more than 20 years in the classroom, most of it being in 2nd grade.  I love the primary grades and believe strongly in the importance of creating a good foundation for learning early.
On the personal side, I married my high school sweetheart  and we are blessed with three biological children. Several years ago we became foster parents and added to our family through the adoption of our youngest.  We live in the Stetson Hills neighborhood and I have had children attending Stetson Hills since it first opened.  My son Clayton recently relocated back to Arizona after several years in Northern California.  My oldest daughter Taylor is a senior at the University of Arizona,  Hannah is in her first year at Grand Canyon University  and my youngest, Esmeralda is in the 7th grade here at Stetson Hills. We also have a Russell Terrier named Trigger who I tolerate and a Shihzu named Leo that I adore.
