My name is Ryan Backstrom. I was born in Missisippi. I'm married to Anna Backstrom, who is the choir director at Sandra Day O'Connor HS. We were married in July of 2005. We have 2 amazing kids, Daphne and Will. Daphne was born in June 2010 and Will was born in January 2012.

I went to Ironwood HS in Glendale and played baseball and basketball. I attended Glendale Community College where I played baseball. I transferred to Missisippi State University where I received my bachelors degree.

This is my 14th year teaching. The first 13 years were spent teaching PE at Stetson Hills k-8 school. I've coached Junior High volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, including the last 3 years as a Varsity assistant coach here at Boulder Creek. I serve as the Athletic Coordinator for Stetson Hills and have been in the position for 12 years.

I'm excited to be working on campus at Boulder Creek. I'm looking forward to the new opportunites and challenges that come with the job, as well as making positive, long lasting impacts on young peoples lives.
