• Welcome to Highland Lake's Special Education program. I hold high standards for all my students to enable them to see they are valuable and capable in being the best student they can be.   As we move forward with online instruction, attendance in the virtual class meetings are an expectation and are vital to your child's success. As new material is presented, attendance in the virtual meetings and instruction will allow your child an opportunity to actively participate and ask questions. Students are expected to come to class with the necessary supplies to be successful such as: a spiral notebook or composition book for notetaking, 2 pencils, a highlighter, planner, and his or her notebook/folder from class. 

    I realize that sharing technology may be a challenge in some homes and I will do what I can to reduce the stress of this challenge. Please email me if there is a conflict with parent or work responsibilities so that we can work something out.     Clip Up-Clip Down

    · Students will move their clip up and down and chart to monitor their behavior.

    · Students will restart at Ready to learn when they switch classes as a chance to restart and refocus.

    Parent contact may come through emails, phone calls, notes home, refocus forms, and request for a meeting.

     

     Class Dojo

    I will also be using the Class Dojo system in accordance with the 4th -6th grade teachers. It is very important to our children that they have consistency in expectations, rules, and rewards.
