Welcome to a new school year. I would like for us to work together to make this year an enjoyable, positive, and successful experience. I would like to keep the lines of communication open to ensure a successful year and would like to encourage you to contact me anytime you have a question regarding your child’s education. Every effort will be made to respond to your question within 24 hours. The best and fastest way to contact me is through email.
Students will be able to access materials needed for class through Canvas. My website has directions for setting up a parent account.
Grading Policy: All grades are weighted: 50% Assessments (Tests, Quizzes, and Projects) and 50% Assignments (Classwork, homework, bell work). Assignments that are not turned in will receive a 49%. If your student is in an advanced class they are expected to maintain a B average. Failure to do so may result in conferences with parent/teacher/student/and counselor to discuss a probationary period and possible removal from the advanced placement.
Extra credit and grading on a curve are not used; these practices are not an effective way to show mastery of standards.
Late work will be accepted for up to two weeks after the end of each unit.
Redoing Assignments: Assignments must be turned in within two weeks of the end of the unit. Classwork/homework assignments being completed and/or redone will be the requirement for redoing Assessments.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please sign and return the bottom portion to Mrs. Lewis by Friday, August 6.
I have read the above grading policy and the Curriculum Guide and Classroom Procedures for 2021- 2022 on the website
