Noelle Thelander

Welcome to Read 180/Math 180/Elevate. I am so excited to be joining you on this exciting educational journey. This is my tenth year teaching at Norterra Canyon, and I absolutely love being a Pirate! Before transitioning to a Service Coordinator, I taught 4th grade here at Norterra Canyon. Prior to that, I taught 5th Grade in Paradise Valley Unified School District. I have 2 children: a daughter who  attends Sandra Day O'Connor High School, and a son who graduated from DVUSD in 2023.
I completed my Under-Grad program at ASU, as well as my Master's Degree, and I am currently participating in the DVUSD Teacher Preparation Program to receive certification in Special Education.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, but moved to Arizona as a young girl. I love it here, and will never move back to the cold weather!
In my free time I enjoy running, and I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Learning something new as an adult has been a game changer for me!

It is my belief that school should be a fun and engaging environment, and I work hard to achieve that in our classroom. As a Service Coordinator/Intervention Teacher, I strive to help every student reach their full potential. I have discovered that most students in an Intervention class just need the right kind of motivation, and I will do whatever it takes to help them find it!
We will have a fabulous year together, and I am looking forward to getting to know you all!
