My name is Kristie Fassette and I will be your teacher this year.  I am excited to meet you and I know we will have a great year together! I began my teaching career here in the Deer Valley Unified School District 30 years ago.  I have taught second grade for 16 years, third grade for 3 years and 3 years in kindergarten. (In the middle years I stayed home and enjoyed raising my son and daughter!)  I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and I also have a Reading and an Early Childhood Endorsement.  I am currently working on obtaining my full gifted endorsement.
     When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two adult children.  My daughter Alexis graduated recently from the University of AZ and moved to Louisville, Kentucky for work.  My son Jayden is working as a lifeguard and taking classes. We enjoy hiking, boating and traveling together. My camera is always ready for the next shot! Some of my passions are scrapbooking, reading, running, biking and hiking. We spend time up north at our cabin in Flagstaff as often as we can! I am thrilled to be a part of the Sonoran Foothills staff and family!  I love teaching and have lots of creative plans for enriching your second grade year.  I can't wait to get started... let our adventures begin!
