• Will there be concerts and field trips?

    Posted by:

Each Band performs a minimum of two concerts per year, one each semester, where students have the opportunity to showcase their talents. The 8th grade Band members participate in 2 events with Goldwater High School, a Future Freshmen Night in the Fall and a Feeder Concert in the Spring. Students planning to attend Sandra Day O'Connor High School participate in their Future Freshmen Night in the Fall. The Bands also perform at the DVUSD Band Festivals in the Fall and Spring. Outstanding students are selected to perform in the DVUSD Honor Band Festival each Spring. In addition, Ms. Belliveau’s membership in the Music Educator’s National Conference, (MENC), affords outstanding  students with an opportunity to participate in the annual Solo & Ensemble and All State Music Festivals each Spring (visit the Concert Calendar page for details about this year's Festival performances).

  • How does the Arizona Tax Credit work?

    Posted by:

The $400 tax credit is a donation that you can make to any school to support your child’s school activities. The amount that you donate to your school is taken off of your state tax liability. It can also be claimed as an additional refund to your state tax. Basically, whatever you decide to donate to the schools will be given back to you at the end of the year. You can follow this link:

  • How much can I donate?

    Posted by:

Married couples may donate up to $400 if they are filing their taxes jointly. If a married couple files separate returns, then each individual may claim up to $100 on each return. Single individuals or a head of household may donate up to $200. Remember, these figures are the maximum you may donate to receive a tax refund. Any amount under that is definitely acceptable and eligible of a refund.

  • Do I have a say as to where the donation will go?

    Posted by:

You most certainly do. When you are ready to give your donation, you will fill out a tax donation form. On this form will be a space for you to label what area(s) you would like to receive the money. The donation may be split between two activities (i.e. band and choir club), but the maximum combined total donation is $400.

  • Are parents the only individuals that are allowed to participate in this activity?

    Posted by:

Every Arizona state resident that pays Arizona state taxes is eligible to participate. So grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends can also contribute to your child’s school activities.
