Hello and welcome back to school! My name is Danielle Schick and I am very excited to be your child’s First Grade teacher here at Terramar. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Josh, for 14 years. We have two amazing children, boy/girl twins, Brayden and Payton, that are almost 13 years old, who are both 7th graders here at Terramar. We also have one furry daughter, Lola (she is a Morkie). I like to call her our 4 ½ pound watchdog! We moved to Arizona 8 years ago to escape the nasty weather of Illinois. We enjoy seeing the sun 300+ days a year! In the summer your will normally find me sitting next to the pool with a good book. I enjoy running, hiking, playing board games, taking our RZR to the sand dunes and camping.
I have always loved kids. Growing up I spent many summers working as a ‘live in nanny’ for my older sister; however, I did not realize that I wanted to be a teacher until I had my own kiddos. That gave me to push to go back to school to receive my Masters in Elementary Education. Since becoming a teacher, I have taught 3 years in charter schools and 3 years in DVUSD. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 4th grade (at Canyon Springs in Anthem). One of my favorite parts of teaching is that my students truly do become an extension of my family. I do my best to get to know each student, as an individual, so I can help them reach success. I look forward to a great year with you and your child.
