Gina Etzel
 Gina Etzel, gina.etzel@dvusd.org, has been teaching English Language Arts in the Deer Valley Unified School District for the last five years. This is her second year at Vista Peak School and she previously taught at Barry Goldwater High School. She received her Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education with an extended major in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. Ms. Etzel grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and has been living in Arizona for the last eleven years

Michele Fantin
 
Michele Fantin, michele.fantin@dvusd.org, This is my tenth year teaching, but my eighth year with Mountain Ridge. I am originally from Arizona, but earned my BA degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA and my MA degree in School Psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. I am certified in Special Education K-12, General Education K-8, Psychology, and Language Arts 9-12. I have a love for reading and sports. 
I will be the Mountain Ridge Varsity Softball Coach for six years. We finished in the top 5 every year, with back to back Division 1 State Tournament Runner-Up finishes last the two years.
I will be teaching regular Psychology, Dual Psych through Rio Salado, Advanced Placement Psychology, and online Psychology for the Deer Valley Online Learning Program this year. This is my fifth year teaching Psychology and I am thrilled to share my excitement for psychology with such motivated and eager students. :0)

Cynthia Garraway
 
 
Cindy Garraway, cynthia.garraway@dvusd.org, received her M.A. in Education from Barat College of DePaul University and a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois. She began teaching high school in 2002 and joined the faculty at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in 2008 teaching ELA and dual enrollment Communications. Mrs. Garraway also is an adjunct faculty member for Rio Salado College teaching COM 100. She was recognized by Rio Salado College in 2016 as being an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member and in 2015 received Deer Valley Unified School District’s Teacher of the Year.

Katie Harkema  
 
Katie Harkema, katie.harkema@dvusd.org, graduated magna cum laude from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors degree in Secondary English Education. She began teaching in 2005, and has taught ELA 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8, as well as Creative Writing and Communications. She has also taught 7th and 8th grade summer school,as well as summer school for Deer Valley High School.

 Katie
 Katie Parrott, Katie.parrott@dvusd.org grew up in Orange County California, California.  After a 6 week backpacking adventure through Europe she moved to Spokane, Washington to attend college. After college Katie relocated to Arizona with her husband.  She has two energetic, intelligent and crazy kids, Zeke and Khloe.

Katie has been teaching for over five years both online and in the classroom. 



 
 Andrea Wallach
 
 Andrea Wallach, andrea.wallach@dvusd.org, graduated from ASU in 1989 and has been teaching Language Arts to middle and high school students ever since. Her vast experience includes teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, Title 1 reading, 8th grade Social Studies, 9th, 10th and 11th grade Language Arts and 10th grade honors Language Arts. She has been teaching Language Arts for the Deer Valley Online Learning Program since 2008.
