Where to meet: Please meet in the MPR (Gym), you can dress out in the locker rooms and be ready by 3:45 and on the bleachers. Ms. Scott will meet you there. Please make sure all your registration is complete and start turning in your money for participation ($60) and the tank top ($20) to Mr. Slawson.
Paseo Hills Cross Country is a non-cut sport that provides opportunities for many student-athletes to be a part of the athletic program at our school. Cross Country races are 1.5 miles for seventh and eighth graders. The seventh and eighth graders do compete against one another, but boys and girls run separate races. The 5th and 6th graders are part of Paseo Hills Cross Country Club, not a part of middle school athletics, and they will run 1.2 miles. The 5th and 6th graders compete against each other, but boys and girls do race separately. Meets are during the months of October and January.
Practices will start the week of October 31st and will be about 3-4 days a week after school at the school and park. All interested students will need to fill out the clearance/athletic packet prior to practicing. There is a $60 athletic fee and a registration form that will also need to be completed BEFORE practice starts. There is also a fee to purchase the PH team tank top that is required for the meets. The athletic and shirt fees should be paid when you join the cross country team. The uniform fee for the 2023-24 will be determined as they are ordered--somewhere betweeen $25-35. I am trying very hard to keep costs down. We will also have a mandatory purchase of a $30 Family Pass which gets you in to all the cross country meets.
In order to participate in an after-school athletic program, all students must be cleared to participate through the athletic office. The first step is to complete an athletic clearance packet in REGISTER MY ATHLETE, you will need insurance information, a physical, register and watch the concussion program (this includes registering as a freshman at the high school you think you will attend, watching the video, taking the test, printing out the certificate and returning it with the packet, and signing the concussion acknowledgement form). All students must be cleared prior to try-outs.

First ever Cross Country Meet for PH
Posted by Jerry Slawson on 5/6/2021We are so very proud of our first ever Cross Country meet runners--Shevy and Sullivan. They are both 5th graders and did an excellent job on this race! I cannot tell you how much they surprised me in how well they did! Keep up the great work and I cannot wait to see you in your next meet at Desert Mountain, again, next Monday!
Again CONGRATULATIONS to Shevy and Sully!
