• This Weeks Assignments Page:
    You child should have this in their agenda by the end of the day on Monday. If they do not, please have them copy it into their agenda. If they have homework from not finishing work, they will add it to their agenda that day.
     

    Week of 9/17:


    Homework: Weekly reading and grammar homework is due on Friday. In addition to their weekly practice, I expect that the students are reading 20 minutes per night. I also expect for them to have a silent reading book with the each day at school. (Friday is our check-out days at the library.)


    This Weeks Learning Goals: TSW demonstrate mastery of writing a personal narrative on the district writing assessment. The students will also compare/contrast a poem that they listen to and read. We will have an assessment over making inferences, point of view, and story elements.

    Week of 9/10:

    This Weeks Learning Goals: The students will draw inferences about the main character in a grade level fictional text and they will analyze how a particular sentence fits into the overall structure of a text and contributes to the development of the plot.

     

    Monday: No School

    Tuesday: Listen to the story “Fine” Point of View and Critical Vocabulary Homework handed out and is due Friday

    Wednesday: Wordly Wise/Focus Work (Test will be on September 25- Your child will either have a Wordly Wise Packet or Focus Work Packet that they will be tested over)

    Thursday: Crime Scene Evidence!

    Friday: “Fine” Plot Diagram Homework is due

    Week of 9/3:

    This Weeks Learning Goals: The students will cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as make inferences drawn from the text.

     

    Monday: No School

    Tuesday: Understanding the story “The Ravine” Homework handed out and is due Friday

    Wednesday: Making Inferences “The Ravine”

    Thursday: Read “Fine” Point of View

    Friday: Wordly Wise Lesson 1 Test Homework is due

    This Weeks Learning Goals: We will be analyzing how a paragraph and structure of the text fits in with the overall plot of a story, and then will revise our own personal narrative to improve the development of the plot.

    We have been working on a speech for the class. If your child has not shared yet, they need to by Friday.


    Monday: “The Jumping Tree” plot lesson Homework handed out and is due Friday

    Tuesday: Review the district writing rubric and revise personal narrative

    Wednesday: Wordly Wise Lesson1 (Vocabulary Test on 9/7) and edit personal narrative  

    Thursday: Typing final draft of personal narrative. (Personal Narrative Due by Friday)

    Friday: Homework is due Begin Reading “The Ravine”
