Mrs. Judith Centa

Judith Centa has been serving the DVUSD for eighteen years.  She is originally from Ohio where attended Lake Erie College to obtain her Bachelor degree in Education.  One year later, she continued her love for learning and graduated with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Education from Cleveland State University.  She was a classroom instructor for six years in the Mentor Public School System teaching grades first through third. She joined DVUSD at Park Meadows Elementary in 1996 where she taught first grade for two years. She took time off to raise her family later returning to the classroom in 2001 as a kindergarten teacher at Paseo Hills Elementary School.  In 2008 she collaborated in the opening of Norterra Canyon Elementary School where she was a Kindergarten instructor and Reading Specialist.  In 2012, Mrs. Centa became a Master Teacher at Paseo Hills where she implemented weekly trainings for staff, conducted teacher evaluations, and coached staff on effective instructional practice in the classroom.  Judith is honored to move into this position where she can share her knowledge about curriculum, instruction, and assessment.  Her instructional coaching at Paseo Hills yielded high student growth in early literacy acquisition, and she plans to transfer her knowledge of effective practices utilizing assessment to drive instruction district wide. Judith spends her free time hiking, reading, puzzling, and traveling with her husband and three children.
