    Course content will focus on a comparison of major world economic systems, the American economic system and institutions and personal finances. This course is required for graduation.

    AP Macro-Economics (Mountain Ridge High School) 
    The purpose of an AP course in macroeconomics is to give students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to an economic system as a whole. The course places particular emphasis on the study of national income and price-level determination and also develops students' familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth and international economics. (Note: This course may also be taken for elective credit.) 
     
    AP Micro-Economics
    The course is designed to help students develop critical thinking through the understanding, application, and analysis of fundamental economic concepts. Students will be expected to apply quantitative and mathematical skills to economics as well as apply economic logic to a wide variety of real-world and hypothetical situations. Enrolled students are expected to take the AP exam.
