    Child Care for Extended Start of School (previously Staycation)

    Staycation Summer Camp is extended until further notice* with a new format and is open to all K-8 students registered in DVUSD.  This is similar to our Before & After Care program which is currently suspended until brick and mortar school resumes. 

    • STAYCATION/EXTENDED START CHILD CARE is licensed child care during the hours of 6:30-8:00 a.m. and from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
      • Through 8/14/2020, the daily rate is $38 per day and provides licensed child care from 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
      • $18 per day beginning 8/17/2020 (the AZ mandated return to learning date) for pre-approved days, scheduled in advance.  This charge will be made upon authorization by staff on a weekly basis
      • Between school hours, students will be released to the SAFE LEARNING SPACE (see below) where students will connect with their teachers online
      • Drop-In Days
        • Pre-scheduled additional days for Staycation Child Care are highly recommended and are submitted as a schedule change to your registration contract at Deer Valley/ELEYO at least 4 days in advance
        • Unscheduled drop-in days at the site are subject to availability of staff and space
          • The daily rate of $30 per day will apply to your account immediately via the iPad Attendance App
          • The charge will be made upon processing by staff, usually the next business day
      • Accounts must remain on auto-pay
      • Previously withdrawn students will require a new registration submission (immunizations do not need to be re-submitted)
      • DES subsidized accounts should contact their caseworker for an extension of services if necessary
      • New applications will be considered based on staffing and available space
      • Daily breakfast and lunch available for purchase beginning 8/3/2020
      • Packed lunches from home must be self-cooled
      • Students in grades K-8, aged 5-14 are eligible for this program

     

    Free Safe Learning Space 

    • No charge for safe space hours outlined below
    • Students not picked up by the end time indicated will be checked into the child care program and charged a late pick-up fee
    • All days must be reserved in advance; unscheduled drop-in days will not be permitted
    • Students will be in small cohorts and will connect with their teachers virtually and complete assignments  
    • This is not child care; it is a supervised safe space as mandated by the Governor's Executive Order. 
    • Staff may provide technical assistance (login, navigation, etc.) and help clarify questions; tutoring is not available
    • High school students may register for Norterra Canyon School
    • Unscheduled drop-in days are not permitted for Safe Learning Space 
      • For DVUSD Students
        • 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. school days
        • 8:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. PLC early release Fridays
      • FOR DVUSD Staff Children Enrolled in DVUSD
        • 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

    All students must be registered in advance at ELEYO and supply all required information/documentation/waivers/release forms. Registration will require entering a credit/debit card;  Safe Learning Space will not be charged unless there is a late pick-up. 

    DVUSD will utilize district procedures to determine enrollment in the event maximum capacity is reached.

    This Program is available to DVUSD students from 8/17/2020 to 9/30/2020*.   

    Additional sites will be added as the need arises.

    *end date is subject to change pending modifications from the Governor of Arizona, the State Superintendent, and/or the DVUSD Governing Board.  At that time, students requiring child care will need to be enrolled in the Before & After Care program, which is currently suspended

    Staycation/Extended Start Care has been extended at our 6 regional summer camp locations. These sites are conveniently located throughout the district to provide a safe and fun environment for school-age children in grades K-8 (age 5-14) during the hours of 6:30-8:00 a.m. and 3:00-6:00 p.m.  Local, state and and national health agency recommendations are in place including hand sanitizing, social distancing, and face masks.

    • Anthem - Anthem Way, east of I-17
    • Arrowhead - 75th Avenue & Union Hills Drive
    • Legend Springs - 63rd Avenue, north of the 101
    • Norterra Canyon - north of Jomax Road, east of I-17
    • Paseo Hills - north of Deer Valley Road, on 31st Avenue
    • Terramar - 71st Avenue & Happy Valley Road

    Free Safe Learning Space Locations

    Learning spaces are free to students registered in Deer Valley USD, as mandated by Governor Ducey's Executive Order.  Safe Learning Spaces provide a place for students to attend during school hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; the day will end at 1:30 p.m. on PLC Early Release Days (please consult the DVUSD calendar).  Students will be in a supervised setting of small cohorts where they will connect virtually with their teacher and complete assignments.  Staff may provide some technical assistance such as login, navigation, etc., and help to clarify questions.  This is not child care, nor is it academic tutoring.

    Registration will begin at 8:00 am on Monday, August 3 and end at noon on Friday, August 7 to be eligible to begin on August 17. Consistent with the Governor’s Executive Order, a maximum capacity has been set in order to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19. This means that it is possible that not every registered student will be able to start on August 17. If program interest exceeds capacity, DVUSD will work to add additional sites as needed

  •  Additional Child Care Information

    • Credit is not given for absences
    • Once you have registered online, your contract will be reviewed by our staff to be sure that we have complete information and documentation
    • Upon approval of your contract, your debit/credit card which you will supply online, will be charged any approved days for the week ahead 
    • Your Account Representative will attempt to contact you if there is missing or incorrect information, or if your payment does not go through
      • You will have no more than 3 business days to respond and correct the situation or your contract will not be approved and will be deleted from pending status. This time period may be shortened when we are at a deadline.  This will require you to re-submit your contract and it will be subject to the availability.   Your child cannot attend without an approved registration contract. 
     
  • Registration/Enrollment

    Child Care

    • Register online at deervalley.ce.eleyo.com
    • Daily rates apply to child care and will be invoiced and charged weekly
    • Each session must be paid by the payment deadline to ensure attendance for the time period covered
    • All payments must be set up on an automatic payment plan with a debit/credit card designated by the parent or payer at the time of registration
      • A debit or credit card must be linked to your account
      • A prepaid credit card can be used if you don't have or don't want to link to a debit or credit card
      • DES funded accounts do require a card on file; you must provide the required DES acceptance documentation in advance to ensure you are invoiced/charged properly for those charges that DES does not cover
      • Online payment may be made prior to the payment date if you do not want auto pay, but you will still need to link a card
      • Failed payments/unpaid balances will result in withdrawal from child care for the period in question 
      • Once a period has been invoiced, the dates are locked in;  additional days may be added, based on availability, for an additional fee; days will not be changed or removed
      • No credits or refunds will be issued for missed or canceled days after the payment deadline
      • A $25 late payment fee will automatically be added to all payments after the due date

     

    Free Safe Learning Space

    • Register online at deervalley.ce.eleyo.com and choose the option for DVUSD Free Safe Learning Space
    • A debit or credit card must be linked to your account
    • You will not be charged a fee unless there is a late pick from the Free Safe Learning Space; if this happens, your student will be checked into child care and a late pick up fee will apply.  The late pick up fee is $15 plus $2 per minute.  This will be added to your account and invoiced/charged on the next weekly billing cycle
    • A $25 late payment fee will automatically be added to all payments after the due date
  • DES Child Care Assistance

    • If you are eligible to receive financial assistance from the AZ Department of Economic Security (DES), you will be responsible for the following:
    • Your daily co-pay as determined by DES
    • Any difference between the daily rate that is subsidized by DES and our daily rate
    • Choosing only the days your child will attend camp
      • if you choose days that your child does not attend, you will pay the full daily rate
      • DES will not subsidize days that your child does not attend for which a reservation has been confirmed
    • Submit the required documentation
    • Currently enrolled families may need to contact their DES caseworker for a date extension beyond 7/22/2020
