Hello, My name is Chris Neiman! 
If you are looking over this website you have been informed that your student will be a part of Mrs. Neiman's third grade classroom!  Let me first start by saying, "I'm honored be a part of your 3rd grade students educational/developmental journey".  When the students enter my classroom they become the "Narwhal's"!  I encourage Student-led active learning, movement, participation, and a growth mindset.  Our Motto' is "Be so Amazing Everyone Believes Your a Myth"!  Learning in our classroom will reach the students potentional and a lil' push to stretch their minds beyond.    
 
Our classroom will be structured with a whole brain learning and flexible seating philosophy.  My job will be to encourage our pod, foster their ability to find independence through organizational skills, stretch their minds and confidence to enact their thinking and make it visible, to enact their creativity to expand their minds, and to make our nautical adventure so exciting that they will be actively engaged while learning through doing!   
 
A little about me: Lansing, Michigan is where my roots are.  Moving to Arizona over 24 years ago was one of the best decisions I could have made for myself.  I've been happily married for over 23 years.  We have three sons (19, 21, & 28), and a grandson, all of which have attended Deer Valley Unified Schools.  I attained my Dual Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Special Education with Summa Cum Laude Honor at Grand Canyon University.  This will be my 6th year teaching with Deer Valley Unified School District.  My educator journey began teaching K-6 grades with a differentiated approach, teaching special education.  Classroom management, organization, and behavioral support are strengths of mine.  My students quickly learn that my passion is English Language Arts.  With a dynamic experience and a vast student clientele in different reading levels, I have a strong tool box to support 3rd grade readers with intensive needs or exceptional needs.  I firmly believe to reach a students highest potential we need to foster their confidence even within their weaknesses.  Last year, I took on a newer endeavor as a Leadership teacher and took our third grade team through the process of P.L.C. work and that endeavor will continue to grow this school year as well.  At the end of 2018-2019 school year I began to explore newer strategies working with exceptional students to begin to attain my Gifted endorsement.  We will be using those new approaches this school year as we dive deeper into the curriculum.  This will be my third year teaching third grade and I couldn't be more excited to meet our new class!        
 
Community Builders:  It is my belief that the most important component of a child's success is partnering with parents and our community to provide the greatest opportunities of success through education.  Whole-world enriched experiences also aprise ways to best incorporate learning into that belief.  I also believe that communication is key in that effort.  There will be multiple ways to communicate with me, such as classroom telephone (before or after school responses), e-mail, and technology based features which will be provided through classroom outlets of communication (Remind101 access will be given at the start of the school year).
