What is 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC)?
It is a five year federal grant that was awarded to Esperanza in 2019.
How is the grant used?
The grant funds a before/afterschool program for students that need more support or extra enrichment. It also encourages family participation by creating opportunities for parents/guardians to attend.
What are the times and days?
The morning program runs Monday-Friday, from 7:30-8:30. The afternoon program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:45.
What does it cost to attend?
There is no direct cost to the families, the child/ren are awarded a scholarship through the grant.
How can my child/ren be awarded a scholarship?
A teacher can nominate a student and the parents/guardian must fill out the application.
Do I have any responsibilities as a parent/guardian?
You much make sure your child/ren attends class on a consitent basis. And you must attend one monthly family event.
