Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tana Strow
This is my story.....
I was born in San Diego, California and lived there until moving to Phoenix in 1984. I attended middle school at Sundance Elementary and high school at Peoria High School, both of which are in the Peoria School District. I received my two year degree at Glendale Community College before heading to Northern Arizona University. The year I graduated from NAU, I met the man of my dreams and we were married a year later. We moved to Los Angeles where my husband was stationed in the United States Coast Guard. After my husband was discharged from the Coast Guard, we moved to San Diego where we lived for 11 years. During those 11 years, I did graduate work at San Diego State University, taught in the San Diego Unified School District (I taught all 9 years at Kit Carson Elementary School where my dad and aunt had attended from 1952-1962) and my husband, Tim and I also had two children during this time. Tim's work brought us back to Arizona in July of 2008 (it was nice and HOT). When school started that August, my son, Tyler, was 5 years old and just entering kindergarten and my daughter Taylor was 3 years old. From 2008 to 2010 I substitute taught at Legend Springs where my son was attending.
Both my son and daughter attend Mountain Ridge High School. My son is a Junior and my daughter is a Freshmen. My husband and two kiddos are the light of my life and my favorite thing to do is spend time with them. Both of my children, as well as my husband, who coaches, are active in sports. Therefore, depending on the season most of our weekends are spent at various sport fields. Tyler plays on his school football, soccer and volleyball teams. Taylor plays on the high school badminton team and also competes in soccer in both the fall and spring at our church (CCV). When sports are not dictating what we do on the weekends, we enjoy getting together with friends, trips to the beach and Lake Havasu (a sandbar is almost as good as the beach), camping (not such a fan myself but the rest of the family loves it) and watching movies.
My motto both at home and in the classroom is to work hard, play even harder, enjoy every minute, have a positive attitude and a giving spirit.
I look forward to another great year here at Park!!!
