My name is Casey King and this will be my 19th year as a public educator teaching various levels of World History, as well as AP Human Geography. I'm an Arizona native and I could never bring myself to leave the valley of the sun. After graduating from Deer Valley, I earned my BA from ASU in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History after completing my student teaching at Tempe High School. Prior to joining the Mountain Ridge family, I worked in the Peoria Unified School District for the first eight years of my career and then in Phoenix Union for two years. 

I LOVE teaching world history and am usually talking about it with my family (many of whom are also educators) and friends. When I'm not in school or crafting my next lesson, I'm spending time with my husband and our three furry children (ok, they are cats), reading historical fiction, hiking, hosting family game night, or binge-watching shows on Netflix. I also travel when I can and love using my adventures to enhance my lessons. Some of my travels have taken me to Denmark, Germany, the UK, Iceland, and most recently, another trip to London and then Paris as well.

I'm honored to be named a DVUSD Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022.
