• ELA LAB Daily plan:

     

    This is a self-paced class meant to improve your reading, your work-ethic, and your overall GPA. You are responsible. Make you proud. You are given trust in this class.

     

    You must work quietly. You are allowed to listen to music, but it cannot be heard by anyone else.

     

    Mon:

    • Log on to my website mrhs.dvusd.org / staff sites/ sabel / ELA Lab / Calendar (Make it a favorite for easy access)
    • Click on today’s date
    • Note which BBR you are assigned
    • Get the BBR on the white shelves (except if you are in E, it will be copied for you to do)
    • On a piece of paper, name date BBR# Book letter Pages
    • When you are finished, submit in the basket by computer 8
    • Use the remainder of time to read or work on other class assignments
    • ***If you need more time you can finish it when you have free time tomorrow

       

       

       

      Tue:

    • Log on to my website mrhs.dvusd.org / staff sites/ sabel / ELA Lab / Calendar
    • Click on today’s date
    • Follow the directions and do the assignment in your journal, put the date and title.
    • The assignment will be typically based on a reading strategy using your SSR novel

       

       

       

      Wed:

    • This day is for you to do any homework for any other class.
    • When finished write down on the homework sheets the exact name of the assignment and the class.
    • On the sheet describe what you did in per 5 only.
    • Turn in the sheet in the basket by computer 8.
    • You will get a grade in addition to the other class’ upon successful completion of it in class (You say you study vocab, but get 3/16 on the assignment, you really didn’t study, so no grade from me either).
    • When finished read your SSR novel.
    • ***If you have no work to do, then you can either: A. Read from your class novel, B. check the online calendar and get ahead for when you will have work to do (this needs to be described on the homework sheet as well). You can’t just do nothing!

       

      Thu:

    • Log on to my website mrhs.dvusd.org / staff sites/ sabel / ELA Lab / Calendar
    • Click on today’s date
    • Follow the directions and do the assignment in your journal, put the date and title.
    • There will normally be a link to a site to read.       The assignment will be language arts based.

       

       

      Fri:

    • You can either do Wed 1-6 again assuming you have work to do (7 is not an option)
    • Or Log on to my website mrhs.dvusd.org / staff sites/ sabel / ELA Lab / Calendar
    • Click on today’s date
    • Follow the directions and do the assignment in your journal, put the date and title.

       

       

       

      ###You may use your iPad (providing all assignments get turned in) or an assigned computer in the back.

       

      ***On Wednesdays and Fridays your other classes are more important to me, so make your success in those a priority

       

      ***if you should need help on a writing assignment, such as an essay in English class, email it to me dan.sabel@dvusd.org with directions telling me what you need me to look at (how are my topic sentences? Am I quoting correctly?) and I will in deed help you.

       

      ***I will periodically check up on you as the class allows.

       

      ^^^Have your SSR Novel with you everyday; you can leave it in the basket. One novel must be completed before final exams; if you complete it early, get another…and choose which one you use for the final.
