Meet Mr. Anderson
February is sort of a transition month in Arizona where it’s not quite winter and not quite spring. It’s a beautiful month and reminds us why we live here. February is a very productive month at Highland Lakes. Teachers continue to analyze classroom/district assessment data to create standards based lessons that meet all students’ academic needs. Along with academics, to ensure we are developing a well-rounded student, we continue to focus on our students’ social and emotional needs.
AASA, our state standardized test, will be here before we know it. The testing window is April 4-29. We are currently working to determine the exact testing schedule for each grade level. More details will follow soon. Our teachers and students are working hard to build deep understandings and a focused knowledge base on state standards and test taking skills. With all this work, we still have time to celebrate our successes and build enduring friendships.
As always, the staff at Highland Lakes values our community and how we continue to work together to help our children be successful. We have an open door policy, so please call or come see us anytime. Thank you for all that you do as a parent and have a great day… or not… the choice is yours!
