This is my 24th year teaching in the Deer Valley School District and my 5th year teaching 2nd grade at Copper Creek. I am highly qualified and my experience includes teaching first, second, and third grade.  I graduated from ASU West in 1995 with a BA in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Learning Disabilities. I have a Structured English Immersion endorsement and am applying for my Gifted Endorsement this summer. I have also studied counseling through the master's program at NAU.

It is always my hope to pass on my love and excitement for education to each group of students that I am blessed to have each year. I strive to create a warm structured learning environment where student's feel safe and happy.  Building relationships with my students is important to me.  Once this happens, real learning takes place.  If you walk into my classroom, you will see students highly engaged in large and small group activities.  There are times when students work independently and times where they work collaboratively with their peers.  Instruction is differentiated so that all students are challenged to meet their fullest potential.

I am thrilled to be teaching 2nd grade here at Copper Creek because of the amazing staff, students, and their families.  I chose to enroll my daughter here l and it was one of the best decisions I've made.  Because of her supportive and caring teachers, she is simply flourishing and I couldn't be happier knowing she is here with me!

Hello second graders! I am beyond excited to continue my teaching career at Copper Creek. Since about the age of 8, I knew that one day I was going to become a teacher. Now the time has finally come and I look forward to a year of learning, fun and teamwork. I strive to create a classroom focused on engaged learning, community and respect. I know that with these principles present in the classroom, it will make for a great year!I was born in Phoenix and raised in Peoria. With that being said, I am a product of the Deer Valley school district. It feels good to be home! I graduated in April 2016 from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education. In the spring of 2018 I graduated with a Master's from Grand Canyon in the area of Teaching English as a Second Language. Go Lopes!I come from a fun-loving family of 4. My mom Antoinette, dad Mark and and younger brother Anthony who is a junior at NAU. My family are some of the most caring and supportive people I know. I love to travel, listen to music and go shopping. I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. I cannot wait to meet everyone and get started. The community of Copper Creek is very supportive and close knit. It was an easy decision to begin my teaching career here and have felt nothing but postitive engagement and communication from parents and the students. If for any reason you need to get a hold of me, my phone number and email address are always available! This year is going to be a hoot!

Hi 2nd Graders, It is my fourth year here at Copper Creek. I love teaching here at Copper Creek and being apart of this close knit community.  I received a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from NAU, and currently working toward the completion of my reading endorsement. My personal goal for my future classroom is to challenge students and watch them grow to their full potential. I want to take students at different levels and see them develop together for the advancement of each individual. Therefore, group work is the key to having a successful class and is something I value. The impact of group work, when students help fellow students, changes each person and transforms the atmosphere of the class as a whole. In my classroom, I want students to have freedom that allows for expression and creativity. Students should be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and to realize their strengths and weaknesses. After this base is developed, the curriculum can be molded to tie in each student’s learning style. I am married and I have two boys.  In my free time I love spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, and traveling. Again, I am looking forward to helping your child grow acedemically and socially.
