I am proud to be a Desert Sky Thunderbolt!
This is my fifth year here at Desert Sky and this will be my 17th year teaching. Born and raised in the small town of Wickenburg, I am a native Arizonian. In 2001, I graduated Wickenburg High School and then went on to community college. Then I transferred to ASU West, where I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education with a specialization of mathematics. Washington Elementary School District employed me as a 5th grade teacher at Shaw Butte. While I was working there, I decided right away to get my Master's degree in Reading Education also from ASU West. I worked at Shaw Butte for 7 years and then was hired on by Dysart Unified School District at Riverview Elementary. There I taught fifth grade for two more years and then became the Junior High Math Interventionist there for another two years. Since I live in Deer Valley, I decided to join the Deer Valley team and I am so grateful that I made the move to be the Math Specialist here at Desert Sky! Currently, I am also attending Grand Canyon University working on my second Master's degree in Educational Leadership & Administration.
Since 2008, I have been happily married to my husband Joe. We are also proud parents of two boys! Our oldest son, Joe, is 11 years old in 6th grade and Tony is 8 years old in 3nd grade. We also have a white lab named Max, a cat named Paisley, a Sulcata tortoise named Leonardo, and an aquarium full of tropical fish and snails. I love spending time with my family, camping, boating, and relaxing by a pool, lake, or on a beach. It seems like we are always busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
I look forward to this year and learning about you!
