    From the Principal, Mark Anderson…

    Dear Highland Lakes Enrolled Families:

I would like to start by welcoming everyone to the 2020-21 school year. As you all know we are unable to start school in person as we want, but please know we are working hard to provide an interactive, rigorous and rich learning environment for our students. We also understand this learning environment is new and as we all work to ensure our students' success, we will need to continue to work as a team focused on our kids. We have amazing teachers that are ready to hit the ground running.
I am want to let you know we have added a second technology pick up day as our Wednesday pick up day has already filled up. If you do not already have a device your child can use for at home virtual learning, please check your email for the sign-up link for the second day of pick ups on Thursday, July 30. This link can also be found in a Facebook post earlier today, as well as on our school website. Again, if you already have a device at home that your child can use, you do not need to pick up another device. If you do need to pick up a device, please be sure you wear a mask on campus, and practice social distancing by staying at least 6 feet apart from others. Please be sure to only send one adult family member to pick up the devices. Campus will not be open and access will be limited to the library; please look for signage for proper entrance and exit procedures.
Lastly, we will be holding a virtual meet the teacher night on Thursday, July 30th. Our teachers will be recording a video message for all of our students. These videos will be available through our school website starting on Thursday at 5:00 pm. Then at 5:30, both Mrs. Ware, our new Assistant Principal, and I will be going live for a short message here on our Facebook page. Details will be on the website soon.
I will be providing more updates as the week rolls out. Please remember, we are in this together and we all are working towards the same goal. We all want what is best for our students and together we will most assuredly make that happen. Thank you for all you have done and will be dong to support your students and your school; you are appreciated. That being said, make it a great day, or not, the choice is yours... Bye, bye...
