Ms. Michelle DeVoe

Greetings! My name is Ms. Michelle DeVoe, and I am excited to be continuing my professional practice at Highland Lakes School. I have taught third grade in Arizona for the last ten years. Before that, I taught for seven years in central Pennsylvania, in several elementary grades.

My family is scattered across the country but we are still very close. My son lives in Tempe and is pursuing his PhD in Mathematics at Arizona State University. My daughter lives in Texas and is pursuing her writing career. The rest of my family live up and down the East Coast. We visit whenever we can! Our beloved dog, Amie, fills our home with love (and dog hair).

I hold a Summa Cum Laude Baccalaureate degree with double majors in Elementary Education and English from Rowan University in New Jersey, and a graduate certificate in Educational Technology Integration from The Pennsylvania State University. I have continued my professional development here in Arizona with an endorsement in Structured English Immersion, and I am working toward my endorsement in Gifted Education.

I believe that third grade is an important transition year, when students begin using their reading, writing , and math skills to broaden their knowledge of the world. I'm looking forward to another amazing year at Highland Lakes School!
