Mrs. Brittany Sutton

Mrs. Sutton is excited and honored to be in her eighth year as the Principal of Boulder Creek High School.  She is humbled and proud of our students' growth, creativity, and dedication to all things BC!  Mrs. Sutton is also grateful for the passion, dedication, perseverance, and drive of our incredible staff that work collaboratively to support each and every Jaguar.  Our collaborative work and focus led to BCHS being A-rated and earning the prestigious A+ School of Excellence Award in 2024!

Some highlights of her tenure at BCHS include being rated an "A" school by the state in 2019, 2022, and 2023 (no state ratings were given in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic); implementing; implementing the BCHS Professional Learning Community where staff collaborate and focus on student learning and support aligned to the standards; implementing Flex Time intervention periods to support students with targeted skill-based support as well as providing flexible academic learning time for all of our Jaguars; and seeing the incredible successes of our students over the years as they compete in athletics, show their artistic passion on stage and on canvas, earn scholarships for their future in the millions of dollars, and give back to the community through compassionate service.  BCHS has raised over $60,000 together for the Make-a-Wish Foundation since 2019!  Truly extraordinary!   BCHS is a special place where learners can create, explore, and grow each and every day!

Prior to becoming a Jag, she served as an Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction from 2014-2017 at Barry Goldwater High School. Before becoming a high school administrator, Mrs. Sutton was a Theatre Director from 2004-2014 and an English Language Arts teacher from 2001-2004 also at Barry Goldwater High School. Mrs. Sutton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership from Arizona State University.

On a personal note, Mrs. Sutton grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, and then moved to Phoenix in 1989 when she began attending elementary, middle, and high school in DVUSD. When away from school, Mrs. Sutton enjoys family time with her husband and three daughters. They love cooking and baking at home, attending theatre productions, going to the movies, hiking Arizona trails, and traveling whenever possible.

Mrs. Sutton is excited to work collaboratively with the BCHS community to grow students and prepare them for post-secondary success!  She is also super proud of our A-Rated, A + School of Excellence and our kind, caring community!  #JagPride
