Mrs. Rebecca Trujillo

My name is Rebecca Trujillo (previously Dewberry) and I teach third grade at Diamond Canyon School. It is an honor to be a member of the Diamond Canyon family! I grew up in the Anthem community, attending Anthem schools and it is truly a dream come true to teach in the community that I grew up in. This will be my fifth year as a 3rd grade teacher at DC, and I can't wait to have another amazing year.

I was born in Texas, raised in Arizona, and attended Northern Arizona University.  I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and taught several years as a pre-school yeacher prior to teaching at the elementary level. I spend my time away from the classroom surrounded by family,  my husband, and friends. I enjoy watching baseball (GO DBACKS!), traveling, and spending time with the people I love. (Ugh - Covid!)

Teaching and working with children has always been a passion of mine. I have a love for learning and I work daily to spread that love for learning to my students each year. I strive to make my classroom a place where children are eager to go each day, knowing they will be safe, valued, and challenged to learn to the best of their abilities. I feel that all children require specific attention and affection for them to truly flourish. It is my goal to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only an education, but a passion to learn.

I know that life the past several months has been turned upside down for many people, including your child. I plan to teach your child from the heart, to the bet of my ability, however that may look this year. I ask for grace and patience as we form a strong team for your child. Change is not easy, but I will grow with the change however I need to support your childs academic needs and emotional health.

I'm looking forward to another great year!
