Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Julie Montgomery
My name is Julie Montgomery and I am so excited to be part of the Sonoran Foothills staff. This is my 24th year teaching and I have spent 20 of those years in the Deer Valley School District. I have taught in a variety of settings, including special education grades K-12 and general education 5th and 6th grades. This year I am teaching Special Education in the Learning Center and am the school SES. My goals for my students are to grow both academically and socially, while building independence and a love for school.
I have three children; 2 sons Michael and Nicholas and a daughter Jaymie. All three of them attended Deer Valley Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. My oldest son is living in Seattle where he is studying to become a computer programmer. My son Nicholas, recently joined the Army and is currently in Missouri where he will finish bootcamp and training as a Military Police Officer. My daughter Jaymie is currently in the Nursing program at NAU.
I was born and raised in New York, but moved to Arizona in 1989 to attend ASU. I love watching sports, especially football and hockey. I am an avid New York Giants and Phoenix Coyotes fan. On the weekends I enjoy spending time with family, camping, trips to Flagstaff, and riding our motorcycle. My favorite place to spend my time is at the beach!
I am looking forward to an amazing year!
