Here is a little about me...
I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to Arizona when I was in third grade. I love to go back to New York to visit, but Arizona is a great place to live! I am thrilled and honored to get to know and teach you.
I graduated from ASU in December of 1993 and began subbing in the Deer Valley schools. From the first day I subbed here, I felt at home and fell in-love with Desert Sage. I was thrilled to be given a long-term substitute assignment in fifth grade. The next year I was given my first class of third graders. I can still remember the excitement of having my very own class. I stayed in third grade for two years before moving up to fourth. The fourth grade teachers, curriculum and students are incredible, and after more than 20 years in fourth grade, it is still exciting and fun to teach it. I now get to focus on my favorite subject, Math and really enjoyed adding Science last year. I work hard to ensure that my students share my enthusiasm for learning and especially develop a love for Math and Problem Solving. I have a Master's Degree in Education from NAU and continue to go to trainings and workshops that can help me become a better teacher.
I have two boys. My oldest son, Anthony is a Junior at Sunrise Mountain High School this year and plays on the Varsity football team. He works hard in school, and I am proud of his academic achievements. His little brother, Nolan is in sixth grade at Desert Sage this year. Nolan also plays for the VooDoo football team. They both love sports and play football and basketball. I also have a boyfriend, Will who has two children, William and Grace. William is also a Junior this year and also plays for Sunrise Mountain on the Varsity football team, and Grace is a Sophomore at Sunrise Mountain. You wil find us at the Sunrise games on Friday nights to cheer them on. We love to travel, ski, hike, go to the lake, watch football and have fun together. My happy place is definitely the beach, and I go to either New Jersey to see family and hang out at the beach or to San Diego each summer. I'm excited to be your teacher this year!
