Southwest Alliance for Excellence (SWAE)

  • Southwest Alliance for Excellence (SWAE) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing improvement efforts and excellence in organizations throughout Arizona, Nevada and Utah, by utilizing the Baldrige Excellence Framework (Baldrige Criteria). Deer Valley has partnered with the Southwest Alliance for Excellence since 2009, making DVUSD the first Arizona school district to participate in the Showcase in Excellence Program. DVUSD employees have volunteered their time as examiners and contributed to the submission of several Showcase Applications. Deer Valley was the recipient of Showcase of Excellence Awards in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014, which require ten page applications to assist organizations with process improvement. The first organizational Level I application, which addresses all seven of the Baldrige Criteria, was submitted in 2014 and produced actionable feedback. In 2015, DVUSD applied for and received the Level II Organization Commitment Award, yielding additional actionable feedback.
